Local nomination papers for all of Hingham’s elected municipal positions will be available starting on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 8:00 AM in the Town Clerk’s Office.Â
The following elected positions will be on the May 2, 2026, Annual Town Election ballot:
Town Moderator - 1 Year Term  Â
Select Board - 3 Year Term
Board of Assessors - 3 Year Term
Board of Health - 3 Year Term
Municipal Light Board - 3 Year Term
School Committee (2 seats) - 3 Year Term
Planning Board - 5 Year Term
Sewer Commission - 3 Year Term
Recreation Commission - 5 Year Term
To become a candidate for local office, one must be 18 years of age and be a registered voter in the Town of Hingham.  Each candidate shall file with the Town Clerk, prior to obtaining blank nomination papers, a statement containing the individual’s name, address and the Town Office for which the individual intends to be a candidate. While candidates must obtain the signatures of at least fifty (50) registered voters in the Town of Hingham, we recommended candidates obtain 75 signatures. Completed nomination papers are due by Monday, March 13, 2026, at 5:00 PM.
