- Calling All Citizens – Hingham Needs You
Citizen engagement and voluntarism are at the core of Hingham’s character. As with our commitment to Open Town Meeting, ours is a community where citizens assume the responsibilities of self-governance by serving on Town boards and committees. The Town of Hingham website is the perfect place to get information on committee service. Just click on the “Government” tab and you will see the many options open to you. A series of interviews for residents who have an interest in serving on a Town board or committee will be held by the Select Board and the Moderator in the weeks ahead. You can complete a Talent Bank Form on the Town’s website. Please submit your Talent Bank Form to the Select Board Office as soon as convenient and by Thursday, May 28. The interview dates will be posted on the Town’s website and published in our local papers (tentatively scheduled for June 10, 11, and, if needed, 24), all in person at Town Hall. Your readiness to give your time and talent to our town is essential to Hingham’s future. The work is interesting, essential, and rewarding. Please step up and get involved. Thank you.

- Open Town Positions
HINGHAM needs people with conservative values in elected positions. Conservative coalitions are coming together. It is a bandwagon moment. This is an opportunity for Republicans to grab hold of seats both locally, and statewide. We must unite and support each other now more than ever. We are frustrated with Massachusetts' one-party rule. We live in one of the bluest states in the nation. We complain about wokeness in our schools, absurd housing developments pushed on us, overreaching state regulations threatening home rule, how our town finances are handled and a host of other local issues. If you love our town, please consider serving in one of the open positions: Moderator (1 year term) Board of Assessors (3-year term) Board of Health (3-year term) Select Board (3-year term) Municipal Light Board (3-year term) Housing Authority (5-year term) School Committee (3-year term) Planning Board (5-year term) Recreation Commission (5-year term) This is an opportunity for each of us to help maintain conservative values in an immediate way, right where we live, work and play. There is no reason each of us cannot make a difference in our own backyard. Please help preserve common-sense values in our community and for your children, and future generations. To help you with this decision, the MA GOP is hosting FREE training sessions, including one in Hanover next Saturday. If you can consider the idea of serving our beautiful town, please attend with me next Saturday! Attending the session does not commit you to anything - just come and listen and learn. Hanover on March 8, 2025 10:30 AM John Curtis Free Library, 534 Hanover Street, Hanover MA 02339, If you have any questions, or would like to discuss running for elected office, please reach out to me.
